Tea Lady~ Altered China Doll Head Posy , Tea Strainer Hat, Prisms, Velvet, Lace , Silverplate Repose' Holder Base
This doll head was in a box of antique dolls I purchased. It is a reproduction of a China head doll. I usually do not use nonvintage antique items in my assemblages but I did like the look of this head!
I assembled her on a antique floral ribbon handle. Her velvet collar I sewed from vintage fabric, lace and buttons. Her fun hat is part of a vintage teabag strainer, accented with a fragment of an old pearl beaded collar. Glass chandelier prisms hang from the handle .
She sits in part of a gorgeous silverplated old candleholder ( for lack of a better word ) but is not attached to the base. A little Victorian whimsey
