I found this thin tin at the flea market and had the idea of treating it like a case by adding a snapped leather closure. I covered the outside with a scrap from a 1920s stock certificate and a trade card with a great dog image.
On the inside I added an antique cabinet card phograph of a man and his family. Along the top the words Country Gentleman cane from a 1860s farming newspaper. There is a fragment of an antique letter, tin type photograph added to the opposite side.I embellished with a wooden ruler section, very old ink pen, leather spine of an antique book, keys, buttons and more.
I like to think of this assemblage as telling a story of this gentleman whom I've named Yale.
